I’ve got to start these daily entries from somewhere! And here’s an updated picture of myself. At least I’ve lost a bit of that double chin now and some of the *cough* bulg!

The morning after 8 months

Hi, so it’s been a while. To cut a long story short, there have been ups and downs, the good and the bad and the outright hellish. But in the end, I’m still here and feeling better about myself. I need to move forward. I’ve found that for a while, my life has almost revolved around my weight in a very nagging way. So I need to do something about before it takes over my life completely.

Maybe it’s just a female thing.

Kimmy’s been trying to get me to keep a food diary, which in itself is a fantastic idea! Although, I just need to motivate myself to do it more. It worked really well for a while and I had lost another 14lbs since March. Yeah I know it’s not a great number, but it’s a number that’s mostly stayed off.

Which is why I’m back here. I plataued at 13st and then put on another 3 pounds. And it’s been like this for almost the last 2 months. I think it’s time to get myself back on track.

Because I want to be happier.

The rollercoaster effect…

Ok so I went on holiday and then I came back and then I was away again for a week or so… and then it’s been a few weeks since then. So while I try and get to the point, let’s just say it hasn’t been all too successful. Mostly because I’ve been lazy and haven’t been counting points properly. I also haven’t been exercising much either. Pah!

I’m not sure what to do now. It’s the fine line between excepting that you are just what you are and be happy with it… or having a bit more faith to change yourself for the better. Maybe the scare factor would help. My recent trip to the doctors has revealed that I’m already starting to get a little bit of high blood pressure.

Dammit.

I’m dreading Monday when I weigh in. Yes it’s Monday now.

Water and Sunshine

Water, water, I seriously need to drink more water. I’m terrible. Since I’ve been doing WW, I’ve been really good at tracking what I’ve been eating AND what I’ve been drinking. I’m barely drinking 2 glasses of water a day, if that! Terrible. Although I’m trying to make myself feel better by typing this with a pint of water on the table next to me lol

I need to drink more, otherwise poor old voice is going to dry up too! Speaking of voice, I need to practise more to. Recording with Groove Intermission went semi-ok yesterday, but my voice got rather tired from doing not much at all! Very bad Saffy, your voice is out of shape!

Also a little worried that I’m going to be on holiday for 3 weeks! Hahaha, yes 3 weeks basking in the glorious (and sticky) sunshine or Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei. Ok so it’s more or a cousin’s wedding, visit family, catch up with old friends type of holiday, but I still can’t wait! And it’s not really the holiday I’m worried about, it’s the food. There’s going to be SO MUCH FOOD! Food on the tables, food on the walls, food around my feet, foot coming out of my eyeballs! And although I’m going to ‘allow’ myself to indulge a little, I’m definitely not going to overdo it. Last time I went back, I put on about 10lbs. Oh the shame, although that was over about 2 months but still that’s no excuse!

Back in reality, my zero point carrot, onion and leak soup is rather tasty!

Week #1 Weigh In

I can’t believe it… I actually dropped 7lbs! That’s like half a stone. So yes, I’m sure a lot of that is water weight and I know you tend to lose the most in the first week, but I was only expecting to lose about 2-3 lbs. Fantastic! And the best bit is, it doesn’t feel like I’m on a diet. Ok scrap that, it pretty much is. But the difference is, is that I saved up enough points so that I could eat a bag of McCoys Flame Grilled Crisps yesterday. Oh god they were good!

The first day in this WW world

Ok so I signed up for a free two week WW online trial (ww is code for weight-watchers, I’m so very original ). Anyway I thought I’d give it a go and see if it does, tip the scales at all to add in a cheesy pun, in this eternal dilemaric battle. Enter exhibit item number 1.

WW Week 1
Yes that’s me, all 14st 7lbs of me… urgh! So here’s the deal, I’m going to stick with the plan, and god dammit it’s going to work. I have 23 points to ’spend’ on food everyday. It seems easy enough. It’s not that I eat a lot of junk food, I just simply eat a lot of food!
